Anchorage Alaska Family Portrait Photographers – Rachel & Tim’s Family

Anchorage Alaska Family Portrait Photographers – Rachel & Tim’s Family

Recently Photographed a wonderful family at Cuddy Midtown Park in Anchorage, Alaska.   Rachel & Tim’s family were a lot of fun, and I really liked how silly their daughter Ella smiled.  Overall, I think the photos from this family portrait turned out awesome! =)

Anchorage Alaska Engagement Portrait Photographers – Lauree from OK

At the beginning of May, I had the kind pleasure of meeting and photographing Lauree & her fiance for engagement portraits.  Lauree was up from Oklahoma visiting him, and would not return before their wedding in November.  I appreciated how kind, flexible, and easy to photograph they both were.  They were even willing to experiment with a location for creative photographs that I LOVE during the winter, but hadn’t tried in the spring/summer/fall.  At the time, was able to kill my first mosquito (hahaha!), and have since killed many more (*#%ing Mosquitoes!).  The location worked out decently enough, but not quite what I had imagined.  So in return, I wanted to reward them for their efforts & flexibility with a few more photos from a nearby side street & fence that gave us some great natural & relaxed portraits.   I wish them the best for their November wedding! =)

Anchorage Couple’s Portraits – Alaska Engagement Photography – April 19th, 2013

A beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day to… take some awesome engagement photos of Shelby & Her soon-to-be hubby. =)  We met just off the road on tudor & enjoyed some April sun rays.  Then later headed down Tudor for one of my favorite portrait places: the bridge on campbell creek.  As always, I loved seeing their love for each other, and the precious time spent together.   I felt honored by some great compliments from the couple, saying how relaxed and natural they felt with me as their photographer throughout the engagement photography session.  :)  It always makes my day to hear I helped make other’s days too. =)

Anchorage Family Portraits – Peter’s Creek, Alaska – Beautiful Fall Foliage

What a wonderful family portraits session I had with Richelle & her family at Peter’s Creek, Alaska.  They were very friendly & the kids were full of expression.  I loved meeting with them for this Fall Anchorage Family Portrait session.  The leaf fight was by far my favorite scenes to shoot!

Anchorage Alaska High School Senior Pictures Lindsay at Point Woronzof

Lindsay did a wonderful job of being a model for our senior pics photoshoot. At the beginning of the senior pics she was feeling really nervous.  After a little bit of joking around, and encouraging her that she was doing a great job, she really relaxed.  The Senior pics came out great, and showed her natural beauty with some fun and creative photos.

Anchorage High Senior Pictures with Lindsay

Hard to believe, by the end, but Lindsay started out very shy.  As we got to talking, and she got used to have a camera taking her photos, her natural smile and beauty showed through.  I love photographing high school seniors because I often get to see people who are very shy to get their photographs, open up and feel very natural and have fun as we move around, talk, and get to know each other.  I consider it a huge privilege to get to learn so much about a person’s life in such a short time.  It’s a joy to learn how life is, interests, goals, dreams.

Anchorage Alaska Senior Pictures – Downtown Anchorage – City Hall

I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph this young man’s senior pictures in Downtown, Anchorage, Alaska.  He was up visiting up from Texas in the middle of the winter (brr! for him).  We had a ton of fun trying all different kinds of poses, styles, and backgrounds.  Next year, he’s headed off to military college, and I wish him the best!

Anchorage Engagement Photography – Mike & Savannah

Here’s a look at Mike & Savannah’s Engagement Photography taken in downtown, Anchorage, Alaska .  It was fun photographing them because I’ve known Mike for over 10 years now & Savannah for a couple of years.  When they first got together, they lit up each others’ worlds & it’s a great joy to see them taking their relationship to the next level.  I’m looking forward to many more years of knowing them & seeing them grow.  =)

Alaska Anchorage Wedding Photography: Kamaria & Wilmoth – Engagement

In addition to their wedding photography, Kamaria & Wilmoth said they wanted to add a post- wedding photography session in which we would photograph them in their wedding attire & then go to Beluga Point for some photos in the style of engagement photography.

We had an interesting & fun photography session.  During our post- wedding photography session, we encountered one of the park’s regular inhabitants.   At first Nolan was really nice & very interested in what we were doing, but kept his distance.   We noticed that he’d had some alcohol, but he remained calm.   As the photography continued, he became a little more friendly, then a little more friendly.  It eventually got to the point that he wanted to either be in the photo or direct me how to take the best photos.  All remained peaceful until the very last moment when we were leaving.  Nolan suddenly took offense to us & became very very confrontational.  Having clients with me & the fragile photo gear that I had on me, my goal was to avoid any physical altercation.  We tried staying calm, but he kept getting closer & closer no matter how quickly we walked.  At one point, I grabbed my keys in my fist just in case.  It seemed he was ready to swing any moment.

Thankfully nothing happened, but man that was an experience!  It did help that we were in a group & I found out later they all would’ve help protect each other, but man I do not wish for another one of those experiences!

The other good news:  We got some great Post- Wedding & Engagement Photography!  Enjoy:

Justin & Sarah’s Engagement photos – Anchorage photographers – Sweet Action Photography

We just had a fun engagement photography session with Justin & Sarah down near Beluga Point.  They were great sports in trying out a ton of different locations around Beluga Point & were awesome trying out new poses.   I really liked the Black & White Photography, especially with all of the rocks & nice backgrounds.  The photos came out classic looking. =)   Enjoy the engagement photography:

The Wedding Photography of Katie and Russ by Anchorage Photographers Sweet Action Photography – Formals

For their wedding pictures, Katie & Russ wanted some fun and creative wedding photographs.  I was excited because that was right up my alley!  Afterall, our slogan is “Fun. Creative. You.”  So we did some fun pictures with the groomsmen checking out the bride, the bridesmaid checking out the groom, the bridemaids finding it adorable when russ “propsed” again to Katie.  I had to bust out the fisheye lens, of course!  In addition, we took some romantic wedding pictures on the wooden bridge by the ski race start/finish.

There’s a lot of variety and fun pictures to see— enjoy!

Alaska Anchorage Wedding Photographers – Katie & Russ Reception Part 2

Here is a second dose of wedding photography pictures from Katie & Russ.  The wedding pictures that I took from this wedding were some of my favorite pictures I took all summer.  It probably helped that Katie & Russ were amazing people that are friendly, and knew how to throw a lively wedding reception party! =)  There were lots of opportunities to try blurred shots dancing shots.  Dancing photographs have always been tough to capture what’s going on, but not make it look akward.  I think I’ve found a style that works well for me. =)

Speaking of dancing, you’ll probably notice some rather risque photographs in this section.  Well, they decided to do a “Hawaiian money dance” which I guess includes placing the money on the wedding couple, and then they have to remove it from their partner’s body….WITH THEIR MOUTH!!!  It started out kinda innocent, but quickly changed its tune thereafter.   (Warning the content you are about to see is rated PG-13. =)  )   It was actually really akward as a wedding photographer to photograph this.  A lot of the times I just put on a wide angle lens, turned on auto-focus, held the camera close & clicked — didn’t even look through the view finder.

I say all of this with the understanding that I realize this was all in good & fun too… =)

Enjoy the wedding photography! =)
