Tie Dye fRENZY! This is what Lance & Ariel’s wedding was about. A nice small gathering of friends & family in the woods of the grooms’ parents house in Wasilla, Alaska. The wedding included awesome tie dye flowers, her friends in tie dye dresses, and the flower girl in a fairy tale tie dye dress. It was “Legend…wait for it…dary!” This was one of the most visually attractive weddings I have photographed. The great outdoors, mixed with the fun, colors made it awesome. For Wedding Photography Portraits headed down the road to an old abandoned warehouse, a sand & gravel pit, & train tracks to top off this Awesome Tie Dye Alaska Wedding! =)
Alaska Wedding Photographers – Seward – “May the 4th Be With You!”
Had a fantastic time photographing Eric & Bonnie’s Seward Wedding on May 4th, 2013. They were such a kind and loving couple. It’s quite an honor when you are able to spend several hours of the most important day of their lives with a couple that truly loves and cherishes one another. We had a ton of fun taking their wedding photography shots down by the waterfall in Seward. My favorites photos are their huge smiles and also the creative shots of them reenacting “American Gothic” poses with straight faces by the waterfalls. What a wonderful wedding it was to photograph! I pray the best for you both! =)
I was looking through our photo collections, and I stumbled upon these photos. Since I over hauled the website for this design, I have been wanting / needing of creating lot many more blog posts about wedding photography from all of the years we have been doing it. However, haven’t had the time to get it all up there. So, I thought “Hey! Let’s give a little throw-back blog post of some of our favorites wedding photos from several years ago. I am hoping to eventually add these weddings into our blog post collections. There are also several photos from engagement photography as well. =) Please enjoy all of the wedding photography & wedding photojournalism from around Anchorage & Alaska:
Anchorage Alaska Wedding Photography – Had the wonderful pleasure of meeting & photographing the newly married Burdues on their wedding day in June. They were good friends of some old friends/coworkers, and had recommended me to them. It was great being a part of the b/c there was genuine love and trust already built up well within their relationship. It was a joy to see how much care & adoration Bob has for his new wife & I wish them the best!
You will notice that all photos are BW – don’t worry, we took color copies too! =) I just had chosen my favorites in BW this time, and wanted to share them with you. Maybe, if you’re lucky, I’ll post some color versions as well! =)
In February, I had the blessing of being a part of Kate’s wedding on 20 mile Creek just between Girdwood and Portage. We started out in Girdwood by catching a ride on a helicopter over the mountains of the Chugach Mountains. The experience was amazing! Originally, the wedding photography was going to be in March with a more typical wedding and reception, but as the day came, pressure mounted, and Kate and her husband (fiance’ at the time) decided to forget the ceremony in a chapel in lieu of a wedding of a life time! Here’s a little sampling of the wedding.
Because of the coldness of the wind & the February weather, the ceremony was so fast that I literally blinked & it was over! I think it lasted no more than 5 mins with a few quick pictures. Unfortunately, because of the wind and cold, we didn’t get many photos taken at the location of the ceremony. We did make up for it, with photos back at helicopter landing site. Being my first experience with a helicopter wedding, I was surprised at how challenging it was to take great photos in the helicopter. The pilot reminded me several times not to touch the plexiglass because it could leave a scratch. The object to get wide angles, but avoid the details of inside the helicopter was quite challenging. I decided that to give the wedding more of a photojournalism look, that I really liked showing the instruments, and internal designs of the helicopter.
The next post includes a lot of fun and creative special effects that I did to enhance some of my favorite wedding photography shots.
Enjoy the Helicopter Wedding Photography
This winter I had a wonderful opportunity for wedding photography at Jeanne & Paul’s wedding at Faith Lutheran Church in Anchorage, Alaska. It was a wonderfully inviting group of friends and family that greeted them on their new journey. I was happy to be a part of it too. =)
Anchorage Wedding Photography – Damien & Shaun: Before, During, & Formals of Ceremony from Cooper Landing. I took their wedding photos in Cooper Landing, Alaska. The scenery there was amazing! The mountains are right on either side with the beautiful Kenai River rushing on behind us. Shaun & Damien’s wedding photography Though I have lived in Alaska my whole life, I am still amazed at the beauty the Lord has given us in this part of world. Whenever I am asked to take wedding photos outdoors in Alaska, I get so excited because of the magnificence of this place! Enjoy!
