At the beginning of May, I had the kind pleasure of meeting and photographing Lauree & her fiance for engagement portraits. Lauree was up from Oklahoma visiting him, and would not return before their wedding in November. I appreciated how kind, flexible, and easy to photograph they both were. They were even willing to experiment with a location for creative photographs that I LOVE during the winter, but hadn’t tried in the spring/summer/fall. At the time, was able to kill my first mosquito (hahaha!), and have since killed many more (*#%ing Mosquitoes!). The location worked out decently enough, but not quite what I had imagined. So in return, I wanted to reward them for their efforts & flexibility with a few more photos from a nearby side street & fence that gave us some great natural & relaxed portraits. I wish them the best for their November wedding! =)

Alaska Baby Photographers – Anchorage Children’s Portraits – Seriously Funny
Had a fun time at museum with a wonderful portrait session of mother & her baby. I just loved his so serious expressions: ”Why so serious?” He had such serious expressions it made me smile! He definitely seemed tired during this child portrait session, which is common with young ones. But from an artistic perspective, it made the photos such a nice contrast with each other & so many smiling baby photos I’ve taken. Don’t get me wrong – I love smiling babies! But this guys’ serious expressions make his smiles all the bigger! Which of course, he had some great smiles in his children’s portraits session too! =)
A beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day to… take some awesome engagement photos of Shelby & Her soon-to-be hubby. =) We met just off the road on tudor & enjoyed some April sun rays. Then later headed down Tudor for one of my favorite portrait places: the bridge on campbell creek. As always, I loved seeing their love for each other, and the precious time spent together. I felt honored by some great compliments from the couple, saying how relaxed and natural they felt with me as their photographer throughout the engagement photography session. :) It always makes my day to hear I helped make other’s days too. =)
NEA Alaska Invited me down to photograph their event: a very fun banquet for the first year teachers. It was a very pleasant event with lots of fun, smiling people. Had a wonderful time with David & Clarissa at Glen Alps, Flat Top in Anchorage, Alaska. We had an engagement portrait session with some rather perfect weather, that is if you’re not wearing Converse Tennis Shoes (right, David?). The scenery is stunning as always, and the photos came out great. However, my favorite part of the engagement portrait shoot was watching the interaction, care, & devotion these two already have towards each other. I can tell they are just good to each other & for each other. It doesn’t take too hard of a look to see those essential elements pop in the engagement photos below.
I was looking through our photo collections, and I stumbled upon these photos. Since I over hauled the website for this design, I have been wanting / needing of creating lot many more blog posts about wedding photography from all of the years we have been doing it. However, haven’t had the time to get it all up there. So, I thought “Hey! Let’s give a little throw-back blog post of some of our favorites wedding photos from several years ago. I am hoping to eventually add these weddings into our blog post collections. So, after a hard drive crash, and recovery, we are finally uploading the last of our Alaska Anchorage Event Photography – Cavalry Military Ball. We had a great time & are happy to be giving the photos back to the troops. =)
Anchorage Alaska Wedding Photography – Had the wonderful pleasure of meeting & photographing the newly married Burdues on their wedding day in June. They were good friends of some old friends/coworkers, and had recommended me to them. It was great being a part of the b/c there was genuine love and trust already built up well within their relationship. It was a joy to see how much care & adoration Bob has for his new wife & I wish them the best!
You will notice that all photos are BW – don’t worry, we took color copies too! =) I just had chosen my favorites in BW this time, and wanted to share them with you. Maybe, if you’re lucky, I’ll post some color versions as well! =)
We had a lot of fun taking fun, and creative pictures of the time at the ball. Our goal with dancing photography was to give a look of fun, movement, and dancing. In order to achieve that we used flashes combined with a slower shutter speed. You will notice fun and creative photos that can including blurs, movement, and even “ghosting,” where an object or person is rather see through b/c they moved during the time of photo taking.
The first batch of candid photos from the Cavalry Ball can be found on our Order Page. One more post will be to follow at a later date. =) The Downloads are free to download, but it is similar to a cart system, where you’ll need to check out in order to download them. Don’t worry, there’s no cost for the Cavarly Ball Photos. This way will just work better with my website’s hosting system.
